A free Excalidraw alternative
Whiteboard is a free, hosted, hand-drawn whiteboard. It uses the open-source Excalidraw editor. It is a good choice when you want to draw with other people by a private link and do not need the extra features of the Excalidraw site.
What is the same
- The drawing editor is the open-source Excalidraw editor. Shapes, arrows, text, the hand-drawn style and the keyboard keys work the same way.
- You can export your drawing as a PNG file or an SVG file.
- You can draw with other people at the same time, and the link is the only thing you share.
What is different
- A board has its own link. The server saves the board for 90 days after the last change, so you can come back to it.
- The board is encrypted in your browser. The key is in the link, and the server cannot read the board.
- This site loads nothing from other companies. Fonts and code come from this site only.
- There is no account, no plan to buy and no ad.
What Whiteboard does not have
- No image tool, and no shape libraries.
- No text-to-diagram tool and no embedded web pages.
- No paid plan with extra features.
If you need these features, use the Excalidraw site. It is a good tool, and it has more features than this site.
Questions

Is it free?
Yes. There are no plans, no ads and no account. You pay nothing.
What does Whiteboard not have?
It has no image tool, no shape libraries, no text-to-diagram tool and no embedded web pages. These features need servers of other companies, and this site uses none.
When is the Excalidraw site better?
Use the Excalidraw site when you need images, shape libraries, or its other features. Whiteboard has fewer features and keeps your drawing private.
Excalidraw is the name of its owners. This site is not part of their project and they do not support it.
